Aaron Larkin - 52nd US Masters Silver Medalist!!
At the 52nd US Masters this past weekend number one ranked slalomer in New Zealand Aaron Larkin took out the silver medal!!! Now with back to back wins at Moomba and a silver at Callaway Gardens under his belt, Azza is looking on form for the upcoming World Championships in Russia.
Skiing to an equal Personal Best of 2@10.25m in the Prelim round and heading into the final in second equal spot behind Jon Travers, Aaron beat out both the 2009 World Champion Will Asher and World Silver medallist Thomas Degasperi with a score of 3@10.75m in the final. Rookie Jon Travers of the USA took out the gold with a score of 4.5@10.75m.
The scores and results Aaron has been putting out on the water in the last two years especially is obviously a testament to his hard work and commitment to becoming the best in the world!! Keep an eye on Steve Cockeram's Open Mens slalom record which sits at 3@10.25m at the moment - we don't expect it will be long before we see Aaron starting to run down that pass.
A huge congratulations from everyone back home in NZ Aaron, you've done us all proud!
