More of our teams Competing off shore
Yes that's right, the A35s (Above 35s) and the AAs team are the next teams to make the step up to represent NZ in tournaments overseas in the next 6 weeks.
Veteran Worlds
The Senior Worlds are in Italy, kicking off in the next week or so, with most of the team already overseas training. Mark Evans, Steve Cockeram, Craig Rogers, Ian Rogers and Andrew James make up the team to represent us for the first time ever at the Veteran Worlds. Some of the scores these guys can pump out are impressive, so keep a watch out for results...
We will put results up as soon as they come to hand. For live results, go to www.iwsf.com to find a direct link to the page.
Asian Australasian & Oceanic Championships
The AAs team heads to Jakarta, Indonesia for the start of the tournament on October 4. Many of the team head to Australia to train with Emma Sheers at the end of September, before the team and group of supporters all assemble in Indonesia from October 1. Mike Evans, Lance Green, Chris Shaw, Rachel Donaldson, Toni Atkinson & Cole Atkinson make up the team, with Georgia O'Connell as a travelling and skiing reserve. With Georgia and Rachel fresh off their trip to the Junior Worlds, we look forward to the up and comers of the team to head in strong for the preparation for their first appearance in a Senior team!
Toni is the only one to return to the AAs after our inaugural win in Korea two years ago, trumping over the Aussies. With a strong team in 2010, lets see if we can't defend it for the first time ever as well!
Check www.iwsf.com for scheduling and results, plus check out the AAs team website they have made just for the tournament:
Take a look at some of the breathtaking action from the finals at the Junior Worlds in the videos below (posted to Facebook courtesy of Tony Lightfot) - these performances are truly world class, and some none like have ever been seen before!
